STICKY CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS

This winning recipe was submitted by Janessa Mahabeer. These sticky drumsticks are delicious on the braai, enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

12 x Chicken Drumsticks
250 ml Ina Paarman Sticky Marinade
Ina Paarman’s Braai & Grill Seasoning
60 ml Sesame Seeds.

METHOD

  1. Make 2 deep slashes down to the bone on one side of each drumstick for better flavor absorption.
  2. Place the drumsticks in a zip-lock bag, add ½ cup of the Sticky Marinade, seal, and massage to coat.
  3. Marinate at room temperature for 2 hours or overnight in the fridge for maximum flavor.

PRE-COOK:

  1. Remove the drumsticks from the bag and discard the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken in a microwave-safe dish, skin side up, and lightly season with Braai & Grill Seasoning.
  3. Microwave uncovered on 60% power for 12 minutes to partially cook.

GRILL:

  1. Preheat your AMC Braai to medium heat.
  2. Grill the drumsticks until they start to brown, basting with the remaining marinade.
  3. Turn frequently and baste until evenly browned and caramelized.
  4. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the drumsticks during the final minutes of grilling.

TIP:

  • For an added twist, serve with a dipping sauce made from leftover marinade mixed with a splash of lime juice.

TO SERVE:

  • Serve the drumsticks on a vibrant platter, garnished with fresh herbs or extra sesame seeds. Pair with grilled vegetables or a refreshing salad for a complete meal.
